EIRICT (Eindhoven Institute for Research on ICT) is the ICT research institute of the TU/e. It bundles the ICT research of roughly 60 chairs of the TU/e, spread across 7 faculties. Emphasis lies with the faculties of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science, Industrial Design and Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. EIRICT is a virtual organization on top of the existing faculties and research groups.
ICT is an innovation engine and it is powered by ICT research in which TU/e has an excellent national and international position. EIRICT aims to strengthen this position by setting up collaboration around ICT themes, called EIRICT Interest Groups (ESIGs). EIRICT examines new challenges, new application domains and new collaborations in order to support valorisation and innovation.
EIRICT is a natural participant in the TU/e strategic areas of Health, Energy and Smart Mobility. EIRICT is part of the 3TU institute 3TU.NIRICT, through which it also participates within EIT Digital. More generally, EIRICT is a contact point for ICT research at TU/e for (local) governments, public organizations, companies and research consortia.
Director of EIRICT is Prof.dr. Johan Lukkien, Professor of System Architecture and Networking, department of Mathematics & Computer Science.
