Research School Beta

In the BETA research school (Institute for Business Engineering and Technology Application; Research School for Operations Management and Logistics) researchers from two Dutch universities are working together: the Departments of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (main contractor) and of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eindhoven University of Technology and the Center for Telematics and Information Technology of the University of Twente.

BETA constitutes the greatest research strength of the Netherlands in the area of analysis, design and control of operational processes within technology-intensive organizations in industry, distribution and service provision.

BETA develops scientific knowledge that helps to solve issues encountered by enterprises and also transfers that knowledge. In this process it deploys a model-based quantitative angle that integrates mathematical, logistical, IT, economic and social-scientific knowledge and attunes this to the specific characteristics of humans and a technology-intensive organization.

The research conducted within BETA has been molded around the three research programs Unit Management, Chain Management and Network Management.
