Bart van Esch appointed part-time professor in China
On October 17, 2017, dr. Bart van Esch (W) was appointed part-time professor at the National Research Center for Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, at Jiangsu University (JSU) in China. This institute, based in Zhenjiang, focusses on numerical and experimental research on fluid machinery, in particular on pumps and pump-turbines.
From 2010, a regular exchange of staff took place between JSU and TU/e. Topics of joint research included the study of instabilities and tip leakage vortex cavitation in centrifugal pumps and the development of a fish-friendly pump for use in Dutch pumping stations.
This appointment is expected to deepen the already existing collaboration in fluid machinery research between Jiangsu University and TU/e.
