ZonMW and KNAW

Research funders increasingly set conditions with regard to the availability of research data. Listed below are the conditions applied by the Dutch funders ZonMw and KNAW:

ZonMw
ZonMw encourages data management in its projects. Like with NWO, researchers must include a data management plan in their funding request. This data management plan must be fully worked out once funding has been granted. Moreover, ZonMw requires researchers to indicate in their data management plans how they intend to achieve FAIR sharing and storage of their data.

Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW)
Each research proposal that is submitted to KNAW must include a section on research data. KNAW offers guidelines (Dutch only) for compiling such a section. Moreover, KNAW requires researchers to register and store research data in a data archive once a research project has been finalized. (See: KNAW policy for open access and digital sustainability).
