TU/e campus gets ready to host the Science Festival
Design intelligent clothes, make a Celfie of your cells, chat to scientists or be amazed by the Science Show. All this, and much more, is waiting for you this coming Sunday at the Science Festival on the campus of TU Eindhoven.
The Science Festival is an exciting event where visitors of every age group can become inspired by the world of science and technology. Such as the TU/e Talks that present leading research on things like self-repairing heart valves, cars that drive on powdered iron or a house that helps look after ageing people.
At the centre of the program is the Science Show, presented by the familiar television presenter Valerio Zeno, with all kinds of tests and demonstrations by student teams. Like cars and buses that are powered by formic acid or solar energy, a drone for the home or soccer-playing robots.
There’s also plenty of things to do. For example, visitors can design intelligent clothes in the Wearable Senses Lab or take a test drive in the Car Simulator. Younger visitors can go inside the Toverlab, where they can make their own shampoo or toothpaste, for instance. Or even make a ‘Celfie’ of their own cells.
The Science Festival (formerly known as TU/eXperience Day) is part of the Weekend of Science. The festival takes place on Sunday 8 October from 12 till 5 pm, and entry is free of charge.
