1. Opening hours
1.1 What are the opening hours of the Student Sports Centre Eindhoven (SSC)?
The SSC is open on working days from 8:00-24:00 hours (exercise until 23h00), on Saturday from 08:30 - 21:00 hours and Sunday from 09:00-17:00 hours. On this website you can always find the most recent information. Also schedules and changes can be found on this website.
1.2 Can I also exercise by myself?
Of course it is also possible to exercise in your own time, for example in Fitness 1, Fitness 2 and Fitness 3, on our squash courts, in our swimming pool, at our Playground or on our tennis courts. This is possible between 8.00 and 23.00 hours on working days, on Saturday from 09:00-21:00 hours and Sunday from 09:00-17:00 hours (except when lessons are taking place). Would you like to play basketball, squash or football with fellow students? In that case you can easily reserve a sports hall or squash court by logging in to our website with your sports card number and PINcode. NB: all participants have to be sports card holder. A tennis court can easily be reserved by bringing your sports card to the court and hanging it in the time schedule. Squash- and tennis rackets can be hired and squash balls can be bought at the SSC info counter.
2. Sports card
2.1 How can I get a sports card?
You can buy or extend your sports card at the SSC info counter. It will be made on the spot and you can use it right away. TU/e- and Fontys students & employees, and TU/e alumni can also get or extend their sports card via our website. When buying/picking up the sports card bring ID and proof that you study (proof of enrollment) or are an employee (pay slip). More info about our sports cards here.
2.2 My partner is not a student/employee, can she/he still join the SSC?
Yes, a partner of a student/employee is also allowed to purchase a sports card. With this card you can participate in the same lessons and use the same facilities as your partner. In order to make the partner-card you need to bring some proof of your 'partnership' to the SSC, e.g. shared rental contract, marriage certificate etc. More info about the partner card can be found here.
3. Sports, class schedule and courses
3.1 Can I join every lesson and training of our class schedule?
You are allowed to join all the lessons you like. There are no waiting lists and you don't need to sign up in advance. If you want to join a training from a student sports club, please contact the teacher or student sports club in advance to find out what level best suits you. We also offer courses; for these you do need to register and sometimes pay in extra fee.
3.2 How can I join a course?
The SSC offers free courses (Fitness, Fit&Slim and Ladies fitness) and Special Courses (incl. diving, golf, skiing). For the starting dates of our courses and more info, you can click here.
