Yoeri van de Burgt was awarded with a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). His proposal is entitled: Brain-inspired Modular Lab-on-a-Chip for Cell Classification (BIOMORPHIC) and in it he aims to use novel materials to develop hardware-based neural networks that can be used to train to recognise and classify biological samples such as (tumor) cells in microfluidics.
