Plasmon exciton polariton laser demonstration on the top 15 most cited articles of Optica

The manuscript Plasmon-Exciton-Polariton Lasing by Ramezani et al., published in 2017 in the prestigious journal Optica, has been among the most cited articles of 2018. In this manuscript, researchers demonstrate the condensation and lasing of excitons strongly coupled to a cavity formed by plasmonic nanoparticles. Interesting is that the threshold for lasing does not depend on the gain of the medium but on the coupling strength. These results can lead to very low threshold nanolasers for integrated photonic applications. Optica is the flagship journal of the Optical Society of America, publishing high-impact research.
