RESEARCH PROFILE

Ioulia (Julia) Ossokina is urban economist and assistant professor at the department of the Built environment, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Ossokina coordinates research on Economics of cities and big data, with as themes: (i) energy transition in homes: economic behaviour and digital tools; (ii) economic behaviour and architectural/urban design; (iii) economic analysis of the public housing sector. She supervises PhD and PDEng students and is involved in multidisciplinary cooperation with academic colleagues and governmental and market organizations. Ossokina has published both scientific and policy-related work and serves as a referee and guest editor for various journals. She is member of national and international networks of urban economists.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Ossokina’s background is mathematical economics and econometrics, with a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2003. Before moving to the TU/e, she had served for 13 years as (senior) economic researcher at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, the financial think tank of the Dutch Government.
