Trainees 2020

Sedigheh Arasteh received her Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, in 2007. She gained her Master’s degree in Computer Science, Intelligence Systems from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences in 2011 while she was employed in the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), the largest Iranian national company. She was accepted at NIOPDC through the “Employment of top graduates of top universities of Iran” recruitment plan. During her 12 years of work experience, she was honored of being involved as a key member of the software development team in all the research, design, and development phase of several outstanding fuel projects. She had different responsibilities including system analysis, system design, and development. Her main interests are Software Architecture,  System Design, and Artificial Intelligence.

Akash Arora received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Application from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India in 2016. Later he received a Master's degree in ComputerApplications, specializing in Software Development from Symbiosis International University, India in 2019. Akash has also studied Cyber Security at Ritsumeikan University in Japan during the Master's program for the summer of 2018 and the entire research internship was sponsored by the Japanese government. Akash has worked actively during this Bachelor's and Master's program as a freelancer for start-ups as well as multi-national companies, helping them with their tech stack. Nowadays, his interests lie in Software Architecture & Design, Entrepreneurship, and Cyber Security.

Nastaran Bajalan received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in computer science from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran. As her Master’s thesis Nastaran worked on Artificial intelligence and Numerical methods for solving optimization models of natural and financial phenomena. Nastaran worked as a full-stack developer in an enterprise project.She worked as a Backend and web-service developer working on different payment solutions as well. Her interests include data science and software architecture. After obtaining her PDEng degree, she plans to work as a software architect and designer.

Ankith Bale earned his B.E. degree in E&C Engineering from VTU, India in 2010. He pursued his higher studies in the U.K. and graduated with an M.Sc. degree in Embedded Systems Engineering from the University of Leeds in 2012. The M.Sc. program was focused on Embedded SoC design, DSP and Medical Electronics. His Master’s thesis involved development of an iOS app based remote blood glucose monitoring system. Ankith was awarded the EITICT Labs scholarship to pursue a dual Master’s degree program at KTH, Sweden and TU/e under the EIT Digital Master school program in Embedded Systems, from which he graduated with an M.Sc. degree in ICT in 2017. He carried out his Master’s thesis work at Philips Lighting Research and his thesis was focused on design of an IoT gateway to embed legacy networks like ZigBee into the IoT. Ankith has worked in the industry in multiple roles: programmer and analyst at MindTree Ltd. (Microsoft Store project), embedded software engineer at Infineon, and an R&D embedded software engineer at Broadcom. His areas of interest include system/software architecture, healthcare & wellbeing technologies, networking and IoT, and business model development.

Dan Chirascu has a Bachelor’s in Software Science and Master’s degree in Embedded Systems at TU/e. After his Master study, he has worked for the dynamics and control department of TU/e and Sycada for the “Cloud-your-bus” project. He translated Matlab to C++ code and ported it to a resource-constrained embedded device for the purpose of estimating electric bus energy consumption, while satisfying real-time requirements. His hobbies are skiing, reading, and martial arts.

Janice Conquet received her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the TU/e in 2018. Afterwards, she earned her Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the same university in August 2020. She did her graduation project at INRIA in France with the topic on ”Integrating third-party models in a modeling and simulation platform”. It involved using techniques such as the FMI standard to integrate the third-party models in the python-based platform. It also explored the recurring connections between the models in a system, and development of a DSL to generate the code for these connections. Her interests are software design and architecture and project management.

Christian Degott received his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Saarland University in early 2019. During his studies he worked as a research assistant at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security on combining Reinforcement Learning with Automated Testing, which was also the topic of his Master’s thesis. After his graduation he worked as a Software Engineer for Amazon in Luxembourg. He is interested in Large-scale Software Systems, Software Architecture, and Project Management.

Mohammad Ibrahim received his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a Software Engineering major from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2012. He also pursued his Master’s degree in Software Engineering from the same university in 2014. His Master’s thesis entitled “Face Verification with Fully Dynamic Size Blocks Based on Landmark Detection”. In this thesis, he proposed and developed a new approach for increasing the accuracy of verifying human faces. He is an enthusiastic and versatile software engineer having more than five years of experience in the software industry. He is interested in Software Architecture & System Design, Entrepreneurship and Project Management.

Hasan Kaplan received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Yasar University, Turkey, in 2018. During his education, he studied 1 year in Warsaw University of Technology with Erasmus Exchange. In 2020 Hasan received his Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s degrees with specializations on Photonic Integrated Circuits, Sensors and Networks from Scuola Superiore Sant`Anna and Electronics Engineering from TU/e. For his Master’s thesis he modelled a Matching Circuit for Connection between Mach-Zehnder Modulator and Driver Circuit operating at 10GHz frequency. Hasan has interests in Software Architecture, System Architecture, and Project Management. In his free time Hasan enjoys swimming, painting, and travelling.

Lkham Nyambuu received her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Telecommunication Engineering from Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). She worked for three years as a telecommunication engineer for G-Mobile, one of the main mobile phone operator companies in Mongolia. After that she received her Master’s degree in Communication Systems from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. During her Master’s program, she worked at Tayo Software company in Lausanne, Switzerland as a Software Engineering Intern and designed a chatbot system. Her Master’s thesis was titled “Automatic Concept Tagging in EPFL Course Descriptions” predicting corresponding concepts from EPFL course descriptions using machine learning, natural language processing, graph theory, and convex optimization. She is interested in software development, data science, and artificial intelligence.

Komang Aditya Respa Putra received his Bachelor's degree in Information System from Telkom University, Indonesia. During his study, he joined the Programming and Database (PRODASE) laboratory as a practicum assistant and also pioneered and developed an online practicum system with his colleagues. In the last year of his study, he received the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for the undergraduate exchange student program at Kumoh Institute of Technology in South Korea for one semester. After his graduation, Respa worked at a state-owned electricity company named PT PLN (Persero) in Jakarta, Indonesia as an assistant analyst of application development for almost 5 years. Respa is interested in topics related to software architecture and application development.

Shubham Rawal received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indraprastha University, India in 2014. Following that he completed a Master’s degree in Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2019. His Master’s thesis project was focused on stylometric analysis of written text in an educational environment for varying cognitive loads and stress conditions. After graduation, he worked for a year at the University of Melbourne as a tutor and supervised undergraduate and graduate level student teams for their capstone IT project. His interests include web technologies, distributed computing and designing and architecting complex multi-domain systems.

Lamisha Rawshan received her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Software Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Her Master’s thesis was titled "Time-Waved Monitoring and Emergent Self Adaption of Software Components in Open Source Cloud". In this project, she worked on cloud monitoring problem and proposed a self-adaptation solution for open source cloud. After graduation, she worked as a lecturer at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh for four years. She published research papers on cloud computing during this period. Her interests are in software architecture, cloud computing and data science.

Abolfazl Saravani received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from K.N.Toosi University of Technology. His Master thesis project focused on natural language processing, specifically summarizing Persian text. Abolfazl has worked on several natural language projects as well as development of web applications. His interests are software engineering, software architecture, and Artificial Intelligence.

LiYang Wang received his Master of Science Degree in Multimedia Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan in 2020. During his three-year study he majored in Human-Computer Interaction, especially in developing haptic feedback devices for novel virtual reality interactions. His graduation project focused on a pair of inflatable shoes that change its shape according to the shape of the surface the VR user was standing on. LiYang also has done a 5-month internship in industrial automation and human-machine interface in Delta EMEA, Eindhoven. His interests include software design, human-computer interaction, and creative design of novel devices. In his free time, he enjoys reading, weightlifting, cooking, and baking.
