The European Association for International Education (EAIE) was founded in 1989 at the first major European conference for professionals in the field of international higher education.
The EAIE is a non-governmental, non-profit making professional association with more than 1600 individual members from 60 countries. Its goal is to stimulate and facilitate within a global perspective the internationalisation of education, in particular higher education, in Europe.
The EAIE has Professional Sections, reflecting the different interests of the EAIE membership, and a number of committees dealing with specific aspects of its work. Once a year, a conference is being held.
