"Data warehousing and analytics for healthcare in practice"

ABSTRACT

While the promise and potential impact of data is large, there are many  day-to-day challenges to implement a foundation to enable data-driven decisions in healthcare. Using the analytics adoption and maturity model as a framework, the different stages of how analytics is done in practice will be presented and discussed.

BIOGRAPHY

Daniel Kapitan (1973) has 20 years of experience in the area of data science and data-driven product development. A physicist by training, with a PhD from University of Oxford, he started his career in the high-tech and telecom industry. In 2011 he decided to switch to healthcare and started his own company, developing a business intelligent service for hospitals. In 2014 he joined NL Healthcare Clinics (now merged with Bergman Clinics) to work on the digital transformation of specialty clinics throughout the Netherlands. Currently, he is Chief Data Scientist at Mediquest where he focuses on the development of new data-driven products and services for healthcare and the social domain.
