Dr. Gamze Dane is an Assistant Professor in the Chair of Information Systems of the Built Environment Faculty of Eindhoven University of Technology. She is trained as urban planner and geographical information systems (GIS) specialist and received her PhD in Urban Planning from Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research interests focus on explaining citizen and stakeholder behaviour in urban environments by integrating econometric models and information technologies (e.g. GIS, sensors, location-based services) into urban models in order to provide policy formulations for sustainable developments. She is an author of several academic journals, book chapters and conference papers in these topics.
Recently she received grants for two Horizon 2020 projects namely “Regeneration and optimisation of cultural heritage in creative and knowledge cities” and "Circular models leveraging investments in cultural heritage adaptive reuse". Within these projects, her aim is to provide smart tools using information systems for sustainable transformation of cultural heritage areas. In addition, she is currently assisting an Education Innovation Project funded by 4TU.
She is also involved in supervising PhD, master and bachelor students, conducting research and lecturing several courses such as Information Management and Process Modeling, Smart City and Research & Development.
