Massimo Mischi received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering at La Sapienza University  of Rome (Italy) in 1999. In 2004, he received the Ph.D. degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) working on cardiovascular quantification by contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging. In 2007, he became assistant professor and since 2011 he is associate professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the TU/e, responsible for two courses on biomedical sensing technology and medical ultrasound. Since 2012, he is coordinator of the Biomedical Diagnostics (BM/d) Research Team of the Signal Processing Systems Group.   His research focuses on model-based quantitative analysis of biomedical signals. He was awarded with prestigious personal grants such as the STW VIDI Grant in 2009 and the ERC Starting Grant in 2011 for his research on angiogenesis imaging by dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound and MRI. In addition, he obtained National and European funding supporting his research in cardiac and muscular electrophysiology, especially aimed at pregnancy monitoring and muscle conditioning. He has also started a spin-off venture (HiPerMotion, 2012) supported by an STW valorization grant in the area of muscle conditioning and rehabilitation.   Massimo Mischi is Senior Member of the IEEE, Vice-Chairman of the IEEE EMBS (Engineering in Medicine and Biology) Benelux Chapter, Secretary of the Dutch Society of Medical Ultrasound, and Board Member of the Imaging Section of the European Association of Urology. Until now, Massimo Mischi has co-authored over 200 publications (H-index 20), 7 patents, and 7 book chapters.
