Both bachelor and master level students from one of our partner universities abroad are welcome to apply for an exchange at our department. In order to give as many foreign students the opportunity to participate in our exchange program, you are - in principle - accepted for one semester.

The official language for both programs is English. For you to benefit most from your exchange semester at our department, you should be able to express yourself well in English, written as well as verbally. Therefore we ask of you to proof that you have sufficient knowledge of English. We accept as proof (minimal requirements):

  • A TOEFL test score of at least 90: internet based
  • An Academic IELTS score of at least 6.5 on average

Next to that, we ask you to send us a letter of intent. Please put into words what you would like to learn during your semester at our department. To get a good idea of what you want to learn during your stay at Industrial Design, we advise you to thoroughly read the information on our website and online Education Guide (bachelor's program or master's program).

For more information on how to apply, please visit the pages of TU/e’s international office

Applications should be sent to the coordinator incoming exchanges. You can find the address on the application papers.

All applications (fully completed) should be in before the following deadlines:

  • For the first semester (September-January), the deadline is May 1st
  • For the second semester (February-July), the deadline is October 1st

Prepare well

We advise you to arrive in Eindhoven before the start of the semester. This way we can arrange a meeting to provide you with all the information you need! Also, there's a general introduction for new students before the semester starts.

TU/e's International Office offers a range of services for exchange students to ensure that you get here in time to start your exchange period, with all the necessary paperwork completed.
