Research schools in Computer Science

ASCI is a Dutch graduate school formed by Delft University of Technology, Vrije Universiteit,University of Amsterdam, Leiden University and Utrecht University. Rijksuniversiteit Groningen,University of Twente, Eindhoven University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam andRadboud University Nijmegen are associated members of ASCI.

The Institute for Programming research and Algorithmics (IPA) is a KNAW recognised national inter-university research school. Its principal goal is to educate researchers in the field of programming research and algorithmics.

The School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS) is a Dutch Research School established in 1996 and accredited by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. SIKS is a network institute in which over 450 research fellows and Ph.D. students from 11 different universities collaborate.

Research schools in Mathematics

WONDER ("Wiskunde Onderzoeksschool") is the Dutch research school in mathematics. They organise, among other things, courses for PhD students in mathematics.

The LNMB ("Landelijk Netwerk Mathematische Besliskunde", or Dutch Network on the Mathematics of Operations Research) organsises courses at the MSc- and PhD-level, focussing on the mathematics of operations research. The LNMB is also a network of scientists working in this field.Every year, the LNMB organises a large conference, in which both students and international speakers present.

All Dutch universities participate in the MasterMath programme, which organises joint courses at the MSc-level on various topics.

EURANDOM (based at TU/e) is the European Institute for Statistics, Probability, and Stochastic Operations Research. It aims to increase collaboration in these areas by a visitor exchange, and through the organisation of workshops.

DIAMANT ("Discrete, Interactive, and Algorithmic Mathematics, Algebra, and Number Theory") organises seminars and semi-annual symposia.

Other Research Schools

Graduate Program Operations Management and Logistics (GP-OML)

GP-OML provides PhD courses on Operations Management & Logistics (OML). These courses prepare students to do research on those OML topics. Hence, these courses are in-depth courses with a close connection to actual research. The GP-OML program is an initiative of the research school TRAIL and Beta combining the forces of OML-groups in the Netherlands to offer a joint program of PhD courses.
