Ramon Schiffelers received the MSc and PhD degrees from Eindhoven University of Technology. His PhD project resulted in the hybrid process algebra Chi and accompanying tools. As a post-doctoral researcher, he dealt with modeling, analysis and synthesis of supervisory controllers for Philips MRI scanners and participated in European projects dealing with the design of the Compositional Interchange Format for hybrid systems (CIF).

In 2010, he joined ASML, world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry.
As software innovation architect, he is managing a group (+/ 20 fte) consisting of (SW) architects, scientific programmers, researchers, and PhD, PDEng, and MSc students. Together with the group, he combines state-of-the-art methods and techniques from academia with state-of-the-practice in industry into innovative (software) products. These products empower their users to develop highly complex software intensive (sub) systems.

Since 2012 he also holds a position as assistant professor in de Model Driven Software Engineering group at the department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
His research focusses on theory, methods and tools towards cost effective, industrial scale model-driven system/software engineering. He supervises/coaches several PhD, PDEng, and MSc students and provides guest lectures.

Ramon is positioned at the interface between scientific knowledge and its application in the industry. Next to innovative products, this resulted in long-term collaborative research and innovation between ASML, several departments of the Eindhoven University of Technology, and knowledge institutes such as the High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) and TNO-ESI.
