FAQ Practical information about using the library

1. How to make a study cabins reservation?

Study cabins can be reserved in the Outlook calendar with your TU/e account, or at the library service desk. More information can be found here.

2. How to find print books in the library?

Find the shelf codes in “Library Search” and you can collect the books yourself in the library. A shelf code is composed of two alphabetical, and one numerical component (such as ABC 85 CAD). Go to this page to find the right location.

3. How to find a print book with an M number in the library?

Books with shelf codes starting with ” M” (like M123456), are kept in the stack room. You can file a request for loan by using the PLACE HOLD button in “Library Search”. More information at this page

4. How to find print journals in the library? 

Journals in print can be found on the ground floor of the library. See the floor plan for directions.

5. How to reserve books?

Books on loan, or being kept in the stack room, can be reserved by using the PLACE HOLD button in “Library Search”.

6. How to renew books online?

If you still need the book after its due date, you can log into your library account and renew the due date, or contact our service desk (Library.helpdesk@tue.nl). More information at this page

7. How to borrow books? (selfservice)

After taking the books from the shelves in the library, you can check them out at the self-service book lending desk on floor 1, near the service desk. Instructions can be found at the self-service desk, and staff at the library service desk will assist if needed. Make sure to bring your campus card or library card. More information at this page.

8. How to return books? (selfservice)

Books can be returned at the self-service book lending desk on floor 1, near the service desk. You can check them in and leave them on the cart. A campus card or library card is not required. 

9. How to print at the TU/e? 

Printing and copying at the TU/e is only possible for employees and students with a campus card and a PAS account with a sufficient sum on it (see this page). 4 MFPs are currently installed in the library. See the map of the library to find them. For scanning go to this page.

10. How to apply for an ISBN number?

The TU/e library provides ISBN numbers for publications by TU/e authors. For more information and a request form, see this page.
