Description

ARGES is an Applied physics department research project in cooperation with Philips to study gas discharges lamps in weightlessness. This was first performed in parabola flights in an aircraft and later in the International Space Station (astronaut André Kuipers).
A camera reveals the behavioral change of the helical instability of the plasma in weightlessness. Spectrometric measurements of the plasma have also been made.
