ITEM group researchers take the stage at prestigious conference on Technology Transfer and Quantum Impact.
The 21st Erasmus-Descartes Conference discussed the path toward to securing Europe's technology leadership in Deep Tech industries for future generations. The event was opened by Minister Robbert Dijkgraaf with a recorded message from Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Dr. Thomas Skordas from the European Commission. The conference brought together French and Dutch government officials, industry leaders, startups, researchers, and educators.

Sharon Dolmans participated as a speaker in a panel on how knowledge can be transferred to society, while her AIO Daniele Barresi, chosen for the "Young Talents" program, shared insights on quantum for societal impact. The conference attended by ao Prince Constantijn van Oranje, revolved around discussing key issues raised by quantum technology from the angles of strategy, funding, talent, and societal impact.
Future of Quantum
The presence of the Eindhoven researchers underscores their role in the international quantum landscape. Before the event, Sharon participated in an VIP lunch to discuss the future of quantum technology. She emphasizes the importance of the event: “If we want to guide the development of deep tech toward societal impact, effectively contributing to societal challenges and missions, it is imperative that we engage societal stakeholders early on in the development process and co-create pathways forward.”
