Researcher to use funding to study new ways to optimize the efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes.

Yu-Chen has been awarded a prestigious and highly competitive grant from the Taiwanese Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program for his proposal on ‘Optimizing Emission Efficiencies of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes through Manipulation of Light-Matter Interaction’.

Yu-Chen Wei, who is based in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics group in the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education, also works for the European Pathfinder project SCOLED, which investigates radical new solutions to the problem of increasing the efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on modifying the light-matter coupling by nanostructures.

About the Taiwanese Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program

The Postdoctoral Research Abroad Program, sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), is intended to subsidize Taiwanese postdoctoral researchers to conduct research at a leading educational institute abroad.

The goal of this program is to encourage qualified individuals to gain research experience overseas, develop their global perspective, and strengthen international collaborations. The grant duration is for a maximum of two years.
