Working in distribution centers is becoming more normal (but also increasingly monotonous)

Webshops are reaping the benefits form the corona crisis. Parcel deliverers and people in the distribution centers are working overtime to pick and pack all orders. Often, they work together with robots, It is easier to help people adapt to new technology than vice versa, states Hannah Berkers in an interview with nu.nl.
"The consideration for robots is based on efficiency, when more work can be done with less people". Sometimes the work that remains for people is boring, repetitive and still burdensome. Sometimes the interesting work with learning opportunities, such as supervision or repairs, is outsourced to external parties". No fun developments. But, she says, "it doesn't always have to be this way, of course".
