New PhD student Woutje ter Weel

April 13, 2022

On November 1st 2021, Woutje ter Weel started her PhD in the Membrane Materials and Processes (MMP) group in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree at the TU/e working on developing zeolite catalysts for the conversion of sustainable chemical building blocks to high-demand chemicals. During her industrial internship, Woutje started working on energy storage systems which, combined with her enthusiasm for sustainable chemistry, motivated her to continue to work in this field. For her PhD, she will work on developing and improving anion exchange membranes for electrochemical CO2 reduction. This project is part of the Reversible Large Scale Energy Storage (RELEASE) program, which aims to develop and implement new solutions for large-scale energy storage.
