War in Ukraine

We are shocked by Russia's all-out invasion of Ukraine and sympathize with everyone affected by it. What is happening in Ukraine right now is horrific and heartbreaking. Knowing that your family and friends are in a war zone creates unprecedented uncertainty and pain. We strongly reject this war and support our students and staff wherever we can. On this page you can read what we are currently doing and what you yourself can contribute.

current measures

  • Travelban

As of now, for security reasons, no travel permits to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine will be issued until further notice.

  • Breaking academic ties with Russia and Belarus

All research and teaching collaborations with Russia and Belarus will be frozen with immediate effect.

Take good care of yourself and others

With our increasingly international orientation and a community of some one hundred nationalities, we are a university at the center of global society. Consequently, a brutal and large-scale war, just three borders away, makes itself felt in our community.

If you want to talk to someone about this, contact your academic advisor, one of the confidential contact persons (peer listeners) or your HR advisor. On our wellbeing page you will find tips on how to take good care of yourself and others.
