All facets of my study crop up in my work; economics, sociology and engineering.

During my course I was able to follow a whole raft of subjects. And later, when I started work, it turned out that my subjects provided the perfect basis for my job.

"I graduated from the TU/e in January 2005. During my course I was able to follow a whole raft of subjects. And later, when I started work, it turned out that my subjects provided the perfect basis for my job. Even before I graduated, I had accepted a job with Electrabel, a Belgian energy group that has more than 14,000 employees throughout Europe. Energy and the environment are its fields of business.

I started as a management trainee in the Project Development department. I worked on a wide range of projects on such topics as wind energy, biomass, legislation, communication and relationship management and the compilation of investment plans. All facets of my study crop up in my work; economics, law, sociology and engineering.

At present I’m working for Electrabel in Belgium. Back at Project Development. Some of my current projects concern wind, biomass and the design of CO2-free production plants for large-scale industrial customers. I am always on the road, meet a lot of customers, see many other companies and, something I value, I am doing my bit for the management of our environment. I always tell everyone that I have the best job I can imagine."
