Gravitation Program

With the Gravitation program, the Dutch Government aims to encourage research by consortia of top researchers in the Netherlands. Researchers must be carrying out innovative and influential research in their field. The Netherlands organization for Scientific Research is realizing the selection procedure for this program with respect to direct government funding at the request of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Helis Academy

The Helis Academy focuses on the development and coordination of appropriate training, internships and traineeships in the Life Sciences and Health sector in the Netherlands-Flanders region. It was launched in 2018 and is funded by Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland (EU).

The industry in Life Sciences is and will increasingly become a crucial piece, so well-trained individuals are indispensable for the workforce. Upskilling is also expected to take more effort and time becoming more relevant. In that sense, TU/e as one of the partners involved (specifically in data analysis and data stewardship) will develop courses offering to students/young professionals the chance to become industry-reading. These courses will expand opportunities and build bridges between the competences required for jobs in the Life Sciences & Health sector and the existing training programs. Investing in student orientation so that each student can find his or her place in society is, also, a motivation. Read more

International science prizes for Bert Meijer

Nagoya Gold Medal of Organic Chemistry 

In 2017, Japan’s highest award for chemistry scientists, the Nagoya Gold Medal of Organic Chemistry, was presented to Bert Meijer, TU/e professor of Organic Chemistry. Meijer thus joins an illustrious group of 22 predecessors, including several winners of Nobel Prizes, Franklin Medals and Wolf Prizes.

Chirality Medal 2018

In 2018 Bert Meijer received the Chirality Medal 2018. This prize is reserved for an elite list of laureates that includes four Nobel prize winners. The Chirality Medal was initiated by the Societa Chimica Italiana in 1991 to honor internationally recognized scientists who have made a distinguished contribution to the study of chirality. 

Topsector HTSM

Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) is the agency that works on behalf of the national government, EU, municipalities and provinces. Together with its partners RVO Nederland works on an economically stronger and more sustainable society. Within the subject of Innovative Entrepreneurship, there are top sectors that have joined together in Top Consortia for Knowledge and Innovation (TKI's).

The following projects are co-financed with PPS-allowance for research and development from the HTSM top sector through Holland High Tech:
