RESEARCH PROFILE

With the rise of digitalization, there has been a huge growth in data. Organizations can smartly leverage this data to create models that assist people in decision-making. Research indicates that computer models (algorithms) often make decisions that are just as good or better than those made by humans for many tasks. However, these models are not always utilized, and people sometimes do not trust them, even when they function well, and sometimes trust them when they should not. We are investigating the factors that play a role in this interaction.

My dream is that someday, trusting algorithmic advice will be as easy and natural for us as relying on a friend's suggestion.
