Doctoral Candidate

Mert Erer

Group
Electrochemical Materials and Systems

RESEARCH PROFILE

Mert joined the Membranes Materials and Processes group at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) for his Ph.D. research on June 2022. Due to his ambition to make a positive impact in sustainable energy technologies, at the TU/e, Mert will work on developing efficient and durable CO2 electrolyzers for the production of valuable chemicals. Mert will develop novel gas diffusion electrode materials with tunable wettability, and will employ polymer chemistry and coating science to impart the desired functional properties.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Mert received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. During his graduate studies, he mainly worked on the fabrication and characterization of organic solar cells (OSCs) and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), based on structurally demanding conjugated polymers and small molecules.
