Patrick Schara
RESEARCH PROFILE
Patrick Schara started in 2021 as a PhD researcher in the Polymer Performance Materials group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) under the supervision of Željko Tomović and Rint Sijbesma. His research topics are mainly focused on circular chemistry, in particular by incorporating easily degradable bonds into polyurethanes creating recyclable materials.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Patrick received his bachelor degree in chemical engineering and chemistry in 2018 and his master degree in 2021, both at Eindhoven university of technology. During his master he specialized in Molecular Systems & Materials Chemistry with a master thesis on “The influence of polymer binder composition on the the surface segregation of block-copolymer additives in coatings”under the supervision of Catarina Esteves in the physical chemistry group. During an internship at FujiFilm Patrick investigated novel methods for the synthesis of gas separation membranes.
