KSERA

KSERA (Knowledgeable SErvice Robots for Aging) was a small or medium scale focused research project in the EU's Seventh Framework Programme, the theme Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and objective ICT‐2009.7.1. ICT & Aging: service robotics for aging well. The KSERA project ran from 1 February 2010 till 31 January 2013. The KSERA project was coordinated by TU/e and brought together seven partners from five different countries. The main aim is to develop a Socially Assistive Robot (SAR) that helps elderly people, especially those with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), with their daily activities and care needs and provides the means for effective self-management of their disease. 

Key Findings

The KSERA project delivered two prototypes integrating smart home technology with social robots, ubiquitous monitoring system, disease management system for COPD, improved research methods and ethical guidelines.
