After graduation

The conversion and storage of energy is one of the biggest challenges that humanity is currently facing. After your graduation in the Energy Conversion and Storage Master’s track, you  gain access to a plethora of job opportunities. We list a number of examples below, but there are of course many more:

Energy Engineer: Optimizing systems from societies, through industries to individual appliances in regards to energy. For example, you investigate how energy conversion or storage can be made as efficient as possible for transport or power generation applications. Other jobs in this area focus on renewable energy technologies.

Multi-disciplinary Engineer: using experimental, numerical, and theoretical tools, you design, analyze, and optimize systems building upon or similar to energy applications. You work together in a team of experts, applying your specific knowledge of energy technologies to the challenge at hand.

Energy consultant: You can use your knowledge on energy technology and engineering to consult governments, established companies, start-ups and NGOs on topics related to the energy transition.

Research Scientist: you work at the forefront of science in the energy field on cutting-edge technology. Your work can involve the development of new experimental and numerical methods to investigate energy conversion and storage. You can do this at a company, research institute, or a university, where the latter typically also involves teaching responsibilities.

And many more jobs that have everything to do with energy!

We hope this illustrates that the Energy Conversion and Storage Master’s track…

  • …offers an unparalleled mix of experimental/numerical/conceptual topics, covering the spectrum of fundamental sciences to industrial energy applications.
  • …is well-embedded in the Brainport area of Eindhoven, including the many industries located in this high-tech region of the Netherlands.
  • …places students at center-stage, with close connections to the teachers, other students, the department, and the university.
