Degree structure

On the SELECT master’s program, project courses are introduced from the very start. They provide you with advanced training in problem solving and group dynamics for mastering complex energy systems analysis.

Year one
You spend the first two terms at either KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) or Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain). Each location has its own way of teaching SELECT elements. Courses cover sustainable energy conversion, environmental pathways, and training in entrepreneurship.

Year two
During the second year your knowledge is further deepened in the focus area of your choice, including the thesis work. The second year takes place at one of the partner universities participating in the SELECT master's program. Each of the partner universities has its own specialization, some of which are:

  • Polygeneration
  • Renewable Energy
  • Solar Systems
  • Electrical Systems
  • Sustainable Fuels Economy

SELECT international meetings

Several international meetings, where all SELECT students come together, introduce cutting-edge research in the curricula. They also help train you in group discussions in an international setting.

Guaranteed internship

Between the first and the second year, you have the opportunity to take an internship in collaboration with one of the program’s partners.

ESADE crash course in Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Students have the chance to spend a week in Barcelona studying Innovation and Entrepreneurship at one of the best business schools in Europe, ESADE. The crash course will also include training in oral and written communication, equipping you with the necessary skills to boost your entrepreneurial background.

Double degrees

SELECT students obtain degrees from both the universities at which they have successfully completed a part of the program, thereby obtaining a double degree. From the TU/e, you will gain a Master of Sustainable Energy Technology.
