I wanted to study something technical that also relates to climate change. Sustainable Innovation in Eindhoven is a perfect combination, covering economic, social and technical aspects. For instance, in Industrial Ecology, we investigated which materials are used in a product, where they come from, and how much impact they have on the environment. I looked at an electric kettle, which we completely disassembled. Only then did I realize how many different materials some products consist of, where all those materials come from, and how many processes are involved in making a product.

There's a lot to do in Eindhoven – for example, events like Glow and the Dutch Design Week. As part of Brainport Eindhoven, the city has an innovative atmosphere. Student and sports associations offer many events and opportunities. The city is really vibrant! In the future, I hope to find a position where I can help organizations become more sustainable in a cost-effective manner.
