I’m fascinated with the energy transition. Many Applied Physics courses touch on this subject, through the physics of CO2 storage, solar cells, wind turbines, etc. I’m looking forward to doing more projects in that area – my bachelor’s graduation project on measuring CO2 in plasmas was very interesting.

At TU/e, you get a lot of freedom. In my bachelor’s degree, I ended up going really in depth, but now I want to expand a little – and I can! The courses are very specific, but you can easily combine and apply what you learn. Eindhoven itself is great: study associations have excellent ties with companies in the region. Why I’m doing something is very important to me: I want a career that keeps the big picture in mind. Consultancies, start-ups or PhD projects in sustainability and the energy transition all sound great."
