Introduction to Data & AI

This 6-day curriculum is targeted at:

  • People who enjoy:
    1. working with data;
    2. diving deep into a specific topic and;
    3. the prospect of learning to program in Python (only for experts).
       
  • People with a BSc or MSc and at least 2 years of working experience or at PhD-level
     
  • People who feel comfortable with basic statistical concepts like measures of central tendency, dispersion and correlation and know how to interpret a regression.
     

Competencies and key learning objectives

After completing the 6-day module, participants are able to:

  • assess the viability and potential of candidate data science / machine learning projects in their organization;
  • execute a data science project using the CRISP-DM methodology;
  • grasp the basic principles underlying data science / machine learning problems and know how to apply them;
  • understand and apply commonly used machine learning techniques in Python or Knime and integrate them in a pipeline to load, explore and model data, and evaluate results;
  • assess the quality of data science & AI projects.

 

For whom

  • Completed Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and several years of work experience;
  • Affinity with analytics and IT (and for Expert program: the ambition to learn programming skills). Typical STEM background (science, technology, engineering, mathematics);
  • Ambition to grow in senior professional position, combining technical expertise with boundary-crossing skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, complex problem solving and critical thinking.


Certificate

Certified Data Scientist or Certified Analytics Translator. Certificates issued by the Scientific Director EAISI, Prof. dr. ir. Wim Nuijten and the Program Director dr. Daniel Kapitan.

Introduction to Data & AI

This initial module serves as the steppingstone into the world of MDAI. Participants will gain a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and principles in this introductory phase.

Applications of Data & AI

In the second module, participants will delve deeper into practical applications of MDAI. This stage focuses on real-world scenarios, case studies and hands-on experiences to solidify knowledge.

Mastering Data & AI

The final module represents the pinnacle of our program. Here, participants will master advanced techniques, tackle complex challenges in their own organization and gain the expertise needed to excel in MDAI.
