The active sensing program covers all wireless system that perform a wireless sensing functionality based on the reflection of a known transmitted signal. This includes various types of radar systems as well as electromagnetic material characterization.
One of the objectives of the programme line is to develop the technology as well system concepts for future high-resolution radars and lidars, e.g. for the automotive industry. Only with a combination of such sensors will be autonomous driving become reality and help us achieve sustainable and affordable transportation for the following generations.
