EIRES Research
EIRES brings together TU/e research on materials, systems, and processes for energy storage and conversion in an interdisciplinary way. With its challenge-based focus areas, the institute both stimulates TU/e’s interdisciplinary energy research and facilitates the translation from scientific results to actionable solutions. Dedicated programs and communities on topics like Hydrogen, Batteries, Iron Power, Heat in the Built Environment, and Future Chemistry further advance the research in specific fields.
Focus Areas
The focus areas are based on proven scientific excellence, unique infrastructure, and strong public-private partnerships with potential for high socio-economic impact. The topics covered are progressive in size and number of components, ranging from new materials at the molecular level to systems of systems, with computational energy research as a cross-cutting capability.
