A core competence of any engineer is the ability to design: to create something new, something that was not there before.
In this course you will learn how to set up design goals, handle external and internal constraints, and manage time. You will face the difficulties in prototype realization and experience the stress that comes with demonstrating your design in a demanding test environment. Every student will be a member of a small design team of students enrolled in different majors. Every member is challenged to make a complementary contribution to the project. Mutual trust and team spirit is a prerequisite for success. The design prototype is tested for its functionality and judged on quality and elegance of the design. This course is a DBL based course.
