GROUP OF POWER & FLOW

Group López-Cámara

Our group’s mission is to synthesize and develop novel nanomaterials using flame and plasma reactors. Our motivation is to enable solutions for current and future societal challenges on the fields of energy and sensors.

[Translate to English:]

Creativity is the production of meaning by synthesis.” Alex F. Osborn

As nanomaterials are increasingly present in our daily lives, deeper understanding of their properties and features as well as their (scale-up) production and optimization for new applications should be addressed. Gas-phase processes, such plasma and flame synthesis, emerge as competitive production techniques as they enable highly reproducible productions of a large array of different nanomaterials, allow for continuous operation, and are industrially scalable processes. Our research group develops novel nanomaterials using flame and plasma reactors for energy and health care. The former is related to nanomaterials for energy production and storage, while the latter would be focused on materials for sensors.
