RESEARCH PROFILE
Ilja van Oort is a Doctoral Candidate at the Control Systems Group in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) since June 2022. He is working on the CELLSYSTEMICS project under supervision of Maarten Schoukens and Roland Tóth, in which he focuses on applying system identification to derive an integrated model of the multi-scale dynamics of smooth muscle cells.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Ilja van Oort obtained his MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering (Cum Laude) from the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2022. His MSc thesis, entitled “Data-driven blood glucose dynamics identification from free-living diabetes patient data” was supervised by Natal van Riel. Finishing up his MSc degree, he worked for three months at the Institute of Computational Biology at Helmholtz Munich.
