RESEARCH PROFILE

Floor Fasen is a PhD Candidate at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Photoacoustics & Ultrasound Laboratory Eindhoven (PULS/e) research group. Within PULS/e she works under supervision of Richard Lopata on improving rupture risk assessment of abdominal aortic aneurysms using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and transabdominal ultrasound images. Her project is part of the Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Center (e/MTIC) and Fasen therefore collaborates with Philips Research and Marc van Sambeek from the Catharina Hospital Eindhoven.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Floor Fasen received her BSc degree in 2017 in Psychology and Technology and her MSc degree in 2019 in Electrical Engineering, both at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). During her masters, Fasen completed an internship on diffussion MRI of the brain at the Copenhagen University at the Computer Science department. After that, Fasen graduated in collaboration with the Maastricht University Medical Centre on functional MRI and neuroscience in epilepsy. After obtaining her MSc degree, she started doing research on ultrasound imaging of the abdominal aorta as a PhD Candidate at the Biomedical Engineering department of the TU/e.
