Research Program

MRI Engineering

Our goal is to understand, repair, modulate, enhance, replace, or (otherwise) exploit properties of the neural system to advance diagnostics and treatment in the field of neurology.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technology that produces three dimensional detailed anatomical images. A sophisticated technology that can be used for disease detection, diagnosis and treatment. Within C3Te research work on the development of novel MRI technologies in close collaboration with medical and industrial partners, aimed at direct impact for patients and society. The research themes within MRI Engineering are very broad, from novel hardware/system design and image formation approaches, towards tailored and personalized therapy. Research in the field of MRI Engineering will gain signal quality and thereby information content and by combining diverse quantitative parameter supported by artificial intelligence (AI), diagnosis will be improved. Emerging techniques assessing the accuracy of dosage will lead to more tailored therapy and improved patient outcomes. The specific research themes within MRI technology research are outlined in the Roadmap MRI Engineering.
