The transport sector has always fascinated me, and I like mathematics a lot. That made transport scheduling and optimization a natural fit for my interests. I like to think about problems that involve tangible, everyday objects, such as trucks or packages. My thesis is on predicting travel times and the probability of arriving on-time for intermodal transport.

One of the projects I worked on during my master's was during the COVID lockdowns: an efficiency model for predicting the number of COVID-19 vaccine queues needed, based on the expected number of people and the types of vaccines. That was very relevant at the time, which made it an interesting topic. The amount of group work during the program has been great, as you get more insights from each other. The TU/e campus is very appealing with its many connecting bridges between buildings. It has a nice atmosphere, just a 10-minute walk from the city center and everything is just a bike ride away.

In the future, I'll be a valuable asset for companies because of the problem-solving skills I learned at TU/e. I gained enough specific experience to feel ready for a career in the transport and logistics sector.
