Bachelor study program
In the Bachelor College you begin with a three-year Bachelor, following a number of compulsory subjects like mathematics and physics and learning engineering design. You also have non-technology subjects like psychology, because engineers do more than simply engineering. In the Bachelor College you develop skills that you need in industry and learn to translate your technological knowledge into applications that are relevant for society.

Your major forms a substantial part of your Bachelor's study. It is where you choose the field in which you want to work later as an engineer. This is the basis of your study program. TU/e currently offers fifteen majors.
In addition to your major you can choose electives that will accentuate your study program. You can opt for subjects from another field that will help broaden your knowledge or you can choose to go deeper in your own field. By shaping your study yourself, you select the societal challenges you want to help solve. As a TU/e graduate you will have a powerful analytical capacity, you will be innovative and a problem-solver as well as be able to work with people from all over the world.
USE stands for User, Society and Entrepreneurial perspective, a kind of package of subjects that looks at engineering from a user, society or entrepreneur perspective. Such as subjects in the field of light, sustainability or entrepreneurship. This will help you to translate your technological knowledge into societal applications. After all, as an engineer you have to deal with users and find solutions to the challenges in our society. And as an entrepreneur you have to know how to convert your engineering knowledge into innovations.
Experienced TU/e coaches are by your side to offer personal advice from the very start of your study, from the moment you enroll when you and your coach look at the major that best suits you and how you can best supplement this with your electives. In this way you create your own study program, one that fits your interests and ambitions. And if you should find out during your first year that a different major suits you better, then you can look at the options with your coach for switching major within this first year.
