Our approach is strongly based on a novel synergy between model-based and data-driven (learning) methods
The research focuses on the modelling and control of complex engineering systems in the fields of high-tech systems, manufacturing, cyber-physical and networked systems, autonomous and cooperative driving and medical applications.
Two main scientific challenges are addressed:
1. How to develop algorithmic techniques for the modelling, prediction, planning, sensing, estimation and control to ensure safe autonomy and certified performance of engineering systems?
2. How to develop systematic modelling, analysis, and synthesis tools that allow us to tackle the inherent (multi-physics) complexity of designing and operating engineering systems?
The approach to these research themes is strongly based on a novel synergy between model-based and data-driven (learning) methods
