We support the 2030 ambition defined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2015, all member states of the United Nations adopted the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This agenda provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and in the future. At its core are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call to action for all countries in a global partnership.
TU/e focuses on seven specific SDGs
As a technical university, TU/e has the opportunity to play a major role in contributing to the achievement of these goals. All SDGs are of value to TU/e. And all 17 SDGs are addressed in some way within the research that takes place at TU/e.
Four research fields have a very concrete goal in the area of sustainability. These fields of research currently make a fundamental contribution to making the world more sustainable. Within TU/e, these are the following research field:
When we specifically focus on these four research fields within the TU/e in which we can make a very concrete difference in the field of sustainability, there are 7 SDGs that directly and very concretely connect to them, as shown in the following images.
