With support of the Dutch Technology Foundation (STW), in 1995 the development of this 2D scanner was started.  With this scanner it is possible to measure quantitatively the moisture profiles with a spatial resolution of 0.5 mm in two dimensions using continuous gradient upto 19 KHz/mm.  The moisture distribution is determined using backward projection method. This apparatus uses a conventional electromagnet, generating a field of 0.7 T (30.9 MHz). It has the possibility to accommodate a cylindrical samples with a diameter of 40 mm.
