Dr. Oded Cats is an Assistant Professor in Public Transport at the Department of Transport and Planning at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is the co-PI of the Delft part of the SCRIPTS project which involves two PhD projects that are performed with Oded’s daily supervision. His role will contribute to forecasting the performance of a hybrid public transport system which combines fixed and flexible public transport. To this end, operational and behavioural models developed in the two PhD projects will be integrated. His research interest lies in the intersection between transport networks, operations, policy and travel behaviour, especially in the context of multi-modal metropolitan public transport systems. His approach often involves a combination of choice modelling, operations research, simulation techniques and network science. He has been studying the drivers of public transport network dynamics and the impacts of reliability, congestion, disruptions and information on passengers’ decisions and system performance. He is a member of US Transportation Research Board committees and PTV Scientific Advisory Board covering the field of public transport modelling. His research activities often support transport agencies and operators’ decision making.

Niels van Oort works as an assistant professor Public Transport at Delft University of Technology and via his job as a public transport consultant at Goudappel Coffeng he is involved in several public transport projects. His main fields of expertise are public transport planning, dealing with the passenger perspective, service reliability and Big Data. In addition to teaching, Niels often presents his work at conferences and he frequently publishes articles in (international) journals.

In 2006, he started a PhD on service reliability in public transport. He performed his research part time at Delft University of Technology and in 2009 he joined the public transport research group of Professor Wilson at MIT. He finished his PhD in 2011 and started to work at Delft university of Technology in 2012 as an assistant professor focussing on research of passenger reliability in the total trip chain. He is involved in several studies concerning network and timetable optimization, thereby applying his research into practice. Niels supervises PhD and MSc. students focusing on network robustness, bike and transit, MaaS and demand responsive transport.

María J. Alonso González is a PhD candidate at TU Delft since July 2016. She is working under the supervision of Prof. Serge Hoogendoorn, Dr. Niels van Oort and Dr. Oded Cats. Within SCRIPTS, her PhD project evaluates the performance and evolution of New Mobility Services in a Hybrid Public Transport System. By studying the modal split and network assignment of demand responsive services, she aims at understanding how to best match the demand and supply related to new innovative transport services.

Before joining TU Delft, she worked in construction projects in Germany, Italy and Chile. She has a Master's level Double Degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), with special focus on transportation.

Jishnu Narayan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Transport and Planning at TU Delft. He started his PhD in June 2016. His research within the SCRIPTS Project involves optimal network design for hybrid public transport systems combining traditional line/schedule based public transport systems with innovative mobility systems and investigating implications of integrating modes of traditional public transport and innovative demand responsive services.

He did his Masters from IIT Kanpur (India) in Transportation Engineering and Bachelors From NIT Calicut (India) in Civil Engineering. He worked for two years in transportation/infrastructure firms in India before joining as a PhD student at TU Delft.
