The optics lab is used for developing optical fusion diagnostics, development of real-time optical data analysis and plasma-surface interaction studies.

It is equipped with several optical tables, a basis set of optics and a modern imaging spectrometer that is based on Czerny-Turner optical design. For the data-analysis, we have a National Instruments PXIe-system with several I/O modules, including a FlexRIO field-programmable gate array (FPGA) module.
