I’m Tom van Lochem and currently I’m doing a double master program in Fusion and Mechanical Engineering. Ever since I attended the Fusion Road Show with my physics class in high school I’ve been interested in Nuclear Fusion. When this new master program started at TU/e I immediately jumped at chance to follow it.

My main focus in fusion research lies in materials science. Fusion research is really pushing this field to the limit, so it’s exciting to work on this and in doing so, creating a closer working relationship between Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Fusion here at TU/e.
